Demolition of Traffic Bridge over Railway on the Joondalup Line
Focus Demolition were tasked with the demolition of the Hester Avenue Bridge as part of the wider Mitchell Freeway extension project.
From the onset Focus Demolition were tasked with several complications with this project. Firstly, the precast concrete rail tunnel structure demolition works had to be completed over a strict 76 hour round the clock shutdown period. Secondly, all preparation works had to be completed during live rail operations of the Joondalup PTA line.
Working hand in hand with the client, CPB Contractors work was programmed by the hour with no room for error. Due to the high level of planning from the Focus Demolition management team, where all risks were considered the dismantle of the panels and the removal of the footings was completed ahead of schedule with no incident or damage to rail infrastructure. By implementing an in depth plan and executing it to the highest standards Focus Demolition was able to deliver an end result satisfying all parties involved.
